Apparently it's for running programs in 32-bit compatibility mode or something. It's been mentioned somewhere around here before I think.

All of the 64bit versions run something called. WOW (Windows on Windows) which is why you will notice that there is also a program files for 32bit applications as well.

64bit Vista is quite fantastic OS

Microsoft Dsp windows Vista Ultimate 64bit - support 2 cpu , upto 128gb memory - with aero effect, intelligent search, parent control, windows defender, ready drive, ready boost, windows media player 11, windows media center, windows movie maker, windows DVD maker, photo gallery, windows meeting space, remote access desktop - support tablet PC , multi-language interface - DVD

Frontosa has it for about R1700,00 (not sure with the rand will have new price tomorrow) if you are that way inclined.

Wow R1700 is a damn good price for Vista Ultimate

Well at least I have Vista 64 (legal copy) anyway now I wouldn't buy Vista just wait for Windows 7.

besides one or two drivers i had to update to 64bit versions, Vista 64bit is the way to go!

I have 64 bit Ultimate on my PC, and it works well. However, came across an issue that isn't Microsoft's fault. I tried to install Adobe CS2, but the installer will not work when you point to the 32 bit Program Files folder, nor to the 64 bit Program Files Folder, because that is for trusted installers only.

I suppose I could try putting it in something like C:\Adobe, but that's messy. I like my file system neat and in place.

CS2 worked fine in 64bit for me. So did CS3! CS4 is even better ;)

Time for an update?
