Have just received an email from Makro saying that their stock of Vista and Office 2007 are shelfed and ready to move!

A day early but the prices does certainly not look as bad as I've expected!!

Can't wait to get my hands on a copy - legal that is...

Get ready for all sorts of service packs and patches to download from the MS site

Yes! At:
http://www.makro.co.za/ProductList.aspx?cat=6410
they are selling an imaginary "Windows Vista Home Business Upgrade" for R1999. They seem a bit confused.

Gru,

A, B & C definately yes!!! Whooopifreeekindoooooooooo

Ahhh... the wailings and gnashing of teeth will soon start...

@ Gru - We use XP Pro at work here, it works, and is stable. If any luser decides to go Vista, and asks me for assistance, then I'll just sweetly informs said luser that .|.. is the order of the day... :D

Haven't seen Vista yet, or tried it, but from the reports and blogs all over the place I can draw my own conclusions... it's gonna be a PITA....

It's going to be worse once the lusers get their grubby mits on it.
Going to hang a sign on my door " Anybody asking me about vista will be dragged outside and shot. Several times."

Come on man. When Windows XP was released you heard guys saying, "I'm never upgrading to XP! Windows 98 FTW!". Now, everyone uses XP. I can't see what could be so bad about Vista.

I still prefer 98 to XP. I still prefer 95 to 98.

But unfortunately Microsoft had to do and create OSes that just couldn't handle faster CPUs. I'll carry on using XP until I get a PC that is too fast to be stably run with XP, and then I'll switch to Linux thanks to Vista's disgusting DRM.

Have you used it yet? Then you wouldnt ask.
I'll probably upgrade to it.. In about 4 years' time when they release SP2. Oh wait, that'll be a downgrade cause i'll have to uninstall Suse first.

If you feel like wasting your time... :D

As Xarog said, Win98 is preferable above 95... and should the hardware support it...

Today's hardware doesn't have support for Win98 - so it's XP.
