Vista Support

Can anybody please help me with the original Vlite software for E220 Usb Modem. I have installed the Generic Huawei DashBoard/ Firmware and to try to get it to work on Vista but no it does not want to work at All. Please Help.

I should have it. I see you're just down the road from me. Maybe you can come and get a CD?

Buffer over run error...

I have this same problem with a customer of mine. Can anyone tell me what's causing it and why? And what's a way to work around it?

Has anyone figured out what causes this yet? I have a Nozomi HSDPA card. Vodacom told me to reload, not repair my OS. I think not.. Too much of a mission. There must be an easier way?!?!

Does anyone know when a Vista x64 driver will be available for the E620?
Hopefully before Windows Vienna is released.

Why would you want to run 64 Vista systems?

I'm running just one and it's driving me dilly! :D

Will check on the driver availability for you. Last message was 'it's coming...', but so is Xmas....

Hi vodacom3g,

I am currently updating some of my software (FilePacker) to support Windows Vista and I’m also working on 64-bit editions. Two of my PCs are running 64-bit operating systems (Vista x64 and XP x64) so I would love to get a 64-bit driver for at least one of them.

Well I got my new notebook yesterday afternoon, and attached my E220 which I had flashed on Monday evening with the latest Huawei version, and Vista didn't autoplay the installation - when I tried to manually 'autoplay' the E220's CDROM, Vista threw up a message saying that the CDROM was corrupted...

I have since allowed Vista to install a bunch of hotfixes etc, will give the E220 another try in Vista - maybe it will make a difference this time .

You need to flash it twice: once for the firmware/drivers (on vodacom site), and secondly with the vista compatable VMC_lite software (found it somewhere on vodafone uk site)

Hi V3G I finally have a solution. Basically just flash the device from an XP machine with the updated firmware and DO NOT use version 9.1. This software does not work with Vista and the E220. Then once you are in vista, just connect the E220 and use the software on the device (update). After 2 days of arguing and fighting with Vodacom they tell me to go to the business site of Vodafon and download the Vista stuff- Only problem is the link if down permanently. :(
But this way there are no buffer errors. Version 9.1 sucks.

Vodafone Mobile Connect Buffer Overrun Error

Hi Marek,
I had this problem and installed/re-installed Vodafone Mobile Connect, but no luck. Vodacom helpdesk is useless as well... they don't even respond to my requests for support.

So... I figured that there may be an SMS on the vodacom simcard that was not able to be displayed using the VMC sms software.
I took out the vodacom Sim Card and put it into a cellphone. There was an SMS, and I deleted it.
I put the sim card back in to the laptop and whoopeeee the error went away.

Hope this helps.

Hi... Can someone please help me, this is driving me insane!!

I've upgraded to Vista, installed the new Vodafone software (9.1) from their site, but when I run VMC I get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error that pops up with the following, "Buffer overrun detected"... "Program:...\Vodafone Mobile Connect\Bin\MobileConnect.exe"...

If I click "Ok" to this error message, it closes VMC down and I can't run the internet. If I leave it alone, it stays in the background, but I can view internet pages. Does anyone know how to fix this??

Also, I don't get usage stats, or upload or download speed indicators, or sms function. Again, if anyone knows the solution to this very irritating problem, please respond...

Thanks,
Marek.

Guys do not use version 9.1 It does not work properly with Vista. Just fash the device wioth the new firmware from an XP machine and then load up Vista without the E220 modem connected. Once in Vista connect the modem and load software that automatically comes up. Works like a charm.

hi does these runtime error's occur with the E620 data card aswell, and will the DX Runtime help with this as i have a similar problem but this problem was occuring with VMC9 aswell as VMC9.1

The New Vodafone Software is a piece of %#@! ..... I loaded it yesterday to see if it would be better .... worked great for one day and then started crashing for no reason whatsoever.

Seems NOTHING has changed with this rubbish piece of software since version 3 .... that's how long ago it was when I first started using it ... total junk.

I am back to using the Huawei software which NEVER crashes ... not once in 4 months has it ever given me a glitch.

The Vodafone software turns HSDPA into EISH-SDPA !!!!

You are a GENIUS!!!

Thank you SSSOOOOOO much! I've been stuggling for 2months. Did it and it worked!!! Quite relieved...:D
