Vista user

right, back to my @#$%%ing thread,guys,techies,assoc...I tried bitlocker for my vista drive and sadly my bios/mobo does not support it,now how can a mobo thats not even a year old not support vista bitlocker...something about bios updates to allow vista to work with the bitlocker....
@beanie..you remember that files you sent me,you think those is causing it due to the way it is done with the bios

how have u setup your dual boot?

i find dual booting is simple, put each OS on its own drive

dont load windows and vista on the same drive

what pc u running kas?

Core 2 Duo e6300 1.86Ghz overclocked to 3.22Ghz
4GB DDR2-800 RAM running dual-channel
XFX Geforce 8600GT Fatal1ty Edition

Nothing too fancy, but it keeps up with the times :)

Sorry dablak, I take full responsibility for the derailment of your thread. My anti-Vista, pro-Linux zealotous fanaticism ends now (in this particular thread, at least :D)

well i have xp media centre on a separate drive and vista ultimate on a separate drive
Vista boot manager controls which to load at startup, aka.i choose:D

I recently installed Vista x64. Its slower and more unstable than XP, but I reckon I'll stick with it. The look and the search function rules.

i dunno i went from xp 32 bit to 64 bit vista since then i have not had a crash its runs faster and best of all little to no virus's and no spyware :)

vista needs 3 gig memory to run 100%, it also loves quadcores

MS, my friend is a cr@ppola company

Do you think that means much to me when I make a living off of their products?

Further more if I decided to utilise a 'free' OS or alternative OS it would be like swapping from a USS Battleship to a row boat with regard to my circumstance and living.

I am a professional - and i need professional software. Furthermore it is imperative that i stay abreast of new technologies that make me money. M$ Vista being one of them.

So essentially do i care much about M$ ethics that really dont affect me? No. Do I care if Linux never gets viruses? No. Do I care that half the world are trying to run the latest OS on defunct machines? No.

My post was to enlighten an interested user into the pro's and con's of Vista and my conclusion of not bothering with a dual boot system unless neccessary.
