Big data bonus for Telkom Internet ADSL users

According to information received by MyBroadband, Telkom Internet subscribers will get between 4GB and 11GB of free data in July and August. The planned data bonuses are as follows:

1GB subscribers will get 5GB
5GB subscribers will get 10GB
9GB subscribers will get 20GB

These new data bundle sizes will be available for the next two months only and will apply to both existing and new subscribers.

Up to ~45gb since I got the account on the 27th of June (assuming this would be the correct way to look at it seeing as it's likely a rolling calculation). No sign of throttling yet, with international torrents still operating at full speed.

This may not be the correct time to give a full review, as I could still be facing some form of throttling in the near future. (when I become a 'high user') I will keep giving the odd update, though.

Pings on local servers, as I mentioned in my previous post, are consistently good. They compare roughly with those I was getting on an unshaped, prepaid Afrihost account, if not slightly better.
 
I see they allow 2 concurrent connections on there uncapped. thats cool!!
 
Clapped 2gb from newsgroups last night from 10 pm till 6 am this morning. Currently standing on 15gb since Saturday morning 10am
 
This sounds like a good deal. Any updates on whether throttling is in place?

Well that's fine, I do my downloading overnight - just want everything else to run full speed during the day (browsing, youtube, good latency in games)
 
I usually do my downloading at 6-9pm on week days, and then through the day on weekends. So some of it is during peak hours, and speeds were fairly normal over that time. If anything, nowhere close to a 'throttling' level of say under 50kb/s. I will see if this changes as I download more through the month, but for now still no sign of slowdown.

Same times apply to gaming and the good pings I get.
 
Well up to 30gb mostly torrents and NZB and currently running at 115KB/s. Youtube wasn't streaming so well last night, but otherwise no complaints.
 
I tried to sign up to the 4096KB uncapped service with these a**holes tonight. They required bank statements, id documents and current account details. I submitted all the documents and no response after 3 hours.

Do these people work weekends?

If not, I am relieved that they did not respond to my application!

Weird, my application was online and my account was ready imminently. Signed the debit order and emailed it to them and that was that.
 
Hit 50gb and it looks like I am limited to 50KB\s during peak hours and full speed afterhours.
 
IS backbone. Looks like they open the taps on weekends. Full line speed since 10pm last night
