So I signed the OTP on the Street Triple R. Man what a sweeeeet machine that is.

Love my Street. I have the 2010. Took her in for her 20k service and they gave me an Aprilia Pegasso as loan bike. What a donkey. When I got back onto my Street Triple it felt like I was floating across the road. It's so damn smooth.

I loved it since I sat on it. Will hopefully take delivery today. Hows the reliability been on yours. Just a bit curious as British things tend to be a bit on the unreliable side..

I got her 2nd hand at 10k on the clock so I've only put 10k on her and nothing had gone wrong in that time.
Triumph make solid reliable bikes. A lot better than some other major brands from what I've heard. BMW and ducati are always in the shops according to my mates who have them.

You won't regret the Street.

Tigers are "forever" in the shop due to stepper motor failure
Triples are prone to stator and rectifier failure (iirc they had a recall on this, check that your model is not affected, or if it is, that the recall has been done)

Every brand is going to have its duds and the small sample sizes we all have looking at family and friends is not going to give a good picture of reliability. Most BMWs I know of only start giving issues around the 80 000km mark (I know of one thats still going strong at over 600 000km), doesnt mean you should think BMW is ultra reliable. I've also seen a 1200 destroy its timing chain within 1000km

I'm of the opinion that every brand out there today is reliable enough, otherwise they wouldn't be in the market anymore

Well said, way better than I did.

Thanks guys, yeah I am sure each brand has their good and bad sides. I am getting a second hand 2013 model, phoned Triumph to confirm all is in order and that the recall's have been attended to. They confirmed all of this. So looks good. Now if only Cayenne wants to phone me to tell me I can come and pick her up!!

I had to ride from CT to George to get my bike, that felt like it took forever. And that was for a bike I had never seen, and made payment for I think a week prior. So I know the pain you are going through!

I once did a deal for a bike in Durban. I only saw her through pictures but luckily it was a reputable dealer.

I flew down on the Saturday morning with helmet, jacket and overnight bag and rode her back over two days.

And pics when you her please.

Great colour. All you need now is the belly pan and the flyscreen.

Congrats and many safe miles. I'm sure you're amazed by how smooth and fun she is.

Yeah she runs like a dream!! I will look into the belly pan, I am not tooooo keen on the flyscreen, but will def be getting the belly pan. Also want to fit a quickshifter to her. But clutchless changes are very easy on her.
