One quick question from a newbie to 3G tech.

Why am I being charge even though I am not connected to the internet and I have closed all applications which could possible connect to the net as soon as I connect.

I sat and watched this thing counting on and on the megs I had used while I was not even browsing.

Download NetLimiter 2 Monitor (link in the FAQ) and see which application is using your internet connection. It might even be Windows busy updating itself.

Did you make sure that there are no software that are set up to do automatic updates? I know Adobe Reader does this when the internet connection is idle and most AV apps will do the same. It could also be that Windows is checking for updates available to notify you to download them, but that shouldn't be anywhere near a MB worth of traffic.
