Vodacom billing farce (second problem)

Hi,

Ok, Now, V3g.. here is another interesting problem I'm getting..

I'm was disconnected about 30times on a specific day last month.. Everytime I reconnected.... and guess what.. EVERY time I was billed approx 5megs of data... So... I'm being disconnected.. and Vodacom just takes 5megs everytime I reconnect.. oh please please tell me that either Vodacom4me.co.za is stuffed... and this was not the case.. otherwise there is an avalanche awaiting....

Is this on pre-paid?

Where did you see these 5M chunks? On 4me, the dash, your phone, etc?

There is no 'fixed' amount system of any sort, you only pay for data you use. There is 'reservation' system on pre-paid though. If you're on pre-paid I'll explain a bit more how that works.

anyway.. are you sure sure sure they don't do this??
 
I had the same thing ........... you can forget about them giving you a refund. The accounts department believe they have the right to bill for all traffic ; irrespective of whether it reaches you or is a brainfart of the billing system.

I think it might be a good idea to launch an inquiry / audit of VC billing system. I'm sure with enough pestering and presure ICASA would have to concede.

It's a pay per try model....

I have also seen large data usage when I have to reconnect but never 5Mb, highest was 2Mb one day.

Need some help plse! My service was discontinued after reaching the cap. Cap should be R600 but Vodacom allowed it to run up to R1500. Usage was data (according to Vodacom). Checked everything but looks like data transfer on handset was less than 50mb. Customercare can't tell me anything useful. All this an hour after I asked that my billing details should be changed. All very suspicious! Looks like a giant mistake and getting no joy from Vodacom. Anybody I can speak to that can give me some insight? I don't want to pay for data that I didn't use. Think I would have spotted a data transfer of over 500MB. Is this a billing issue?
