I haven't seen the little "B" icon on my Blackberry since yesterday afternoon and suspect I'm being billed for browsing. Phone even shows that BIS is not connected. Rebooted the phone, didn't help.

I'm in PTA..

PM VodacomData the number in question so he can check if theres something wrong on his side.

We haven't been having Bb problems for a while now. Please make sure that you have the GPRS/EGDE in UPPERCASE/CAPS. You will not be charged for blackberry data usage as long as your browser is set to internet and you don't have the TCP settings enabled.

I have BB9700 and the 3G is in uppercase. The network status though reports that BIS is not connected, which is concerning. If the little icon doesn't appear by the end of the day I'll PM you my number and see if maybe there's an issue on my side. Thanks for the quick reply..

Why wait until the end of the day , send your number now, i will have a look

Have you tried this? Go into manage connections. Mobile network settings. Deselect Mobile Network. Once the radio is turned off and your signal bar goes blank...reselect it and let it reregister. Once your phone is reconnected, check and see if BIS is connected now.

Hi OC

Just checked his number and all is ok with configuration.I also advised him to turn the data services off and on again

Yes, BB messages were not sent and I received other messages after reboot.

I had the small "edge" but my wifes BB had the big "EDGE". Some one tried to phone both of us during this period and went straight to voicemail.

We live in the Auckland park area, this was around 6 pm.
