Or do I need to continue listening to their rave-style Backstreet Boys hold music ? It's been 9 minutes ...

Talk to me when you've beaten my all time record of 90 minutes

Was about to say the same thing, just put them on speaker phone and carry on doing something else.

i hung up on them twice today after +- 30 min.

people are so irritated this thread will be the most active thread in two days.....watch

28 minutes yesterday.

Are they trying to drive away customers cos they've stumbled on a winning formula come Nov 10th.

Yip ... hung up after 30 minutes as well :/ Odd thing is, I phone back straight away and got an agent in a minute.

They never answer. Forget about it. Even the guys at the Vodacare shop said that you never get through really. Ridiculous situation it is.

thats absolutely riddiciloes, and when they do answer eventually.... most of the time they cant help anyway. Well, thats my 2 cents...

The music is by the Pet Shop Boys and it's bloody annoying when you're trying to get sorted. Usually during the day it can be anything from 10-30 minutes at night it tends to get better, the other night I got through immediately...was shocked that I came through...of late a quick answer has been the exception.

Ahh yes that pet shop boys song...

My record is 59 minutes. After which they hung up. Even took a screenshot while waiting

I love the irony in the lyrics:

"Did you get what you want?
Do you know what it is? Do you care?
Is he better than me?
Was it your place or his? Who was there?
Did you think it was wrong?
Do you find that it's worse than it was?
Has it gone on too long?
Do you mind that it hurts me? Because....
You're breaking my heart

I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more
I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more
I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more
I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more

You're breaking my heart

Was it cracking the code or just filling in time?
Was that all?
So then why'd you go back to the scene off the crime?
Did he call?
Shall I take further blame or another assault on how it was?
Then we'll get to the fact that it's always my fault, just because..... You're breaking my heart

I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more
I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more
I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more
I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more.....

Don't know what you want
Don't know what you want

I don't know what you want but I can give it any more
I don't know what you want but I can give it any more
You're breaking my heart

I don't know what you want but I can give it any more
I don't know what you want but I can give it any more...

Don't know what you want
Don't know what you want...."

next time you get thru to the agent ask to speak to his/her team leader. then while you at it complaining ask them to please fax/email you their license agreement that allows them to broadcast copyrighted music over a public network...

that should shock them up a bit.

think they hav "dead" lines at the call centre...i noramlly fone...hold for a min or 2...hang up...fone again...hold...continue that till the call goes thru...

That doesn't work because a team leader is never available. (Part of Vodacom's problem) He probably is there, but they won't admit it because the initial operator is worried you might complain about him/her.

At least vc hold music is better then telkom. On telkom they repeat "thank you for holding. all our consultants are currently busy..." every 5 to 10 seconds. That call lasted 30 minutes before i spoke to a consultant.

Serioiusly now, Vodacom has GOT to fix that call centre ... it's got so bad, that when I have a Vodacom error I'd rather a) post on MyADSL or b) Live with it.

So often my query fits in NO catagories listed, and as mentioned, it takes 15-30 minutes to answer a call. Also very fabulous when you hear 'sorry Sir, we're preapaid department ... let me put you through to contracts".

Hire more people !

Dolby, are you still getting long hold times? On 155?

When last did you call 155?

A lot of effort went into 155 recently and the current stats show 70%+ of calls into 155 get answered within 20 seconds.

Also, the IVR was changed to be simpler and you can press '0' at any time to go straight to an agent.

You can also mail them on [email protected], especially if it's not a critical question and you can wait a few hours for the response.

I'm dialing 111 ... pressing 0 to go to a consultant :/ My phone is right next to me on speaker on 15 minutes already. I've been trying since 8:40am.

My CLIP isn't on ... I just need that sorted :(
