Vodacom data carry over

Why is it that on vodacom, the carry over data can only be used once you have finished your data for the current month.

Allocation Available Expiry Date
Recurring monthly 0.82GB 28 Feb 2017
Recurring monthly 4.42GB 31 Mar 2017 < uses the 5 gig first,

Vodacom rips us off from every possible angle! They also give nothing back to the customer.

I've just looked into 'recurring monthly' as an option to buying data. Please do post the question on their Facebook page. I'd be very interested to hear their response.
