Vodacom data notification FAIL

It's only on advanced, not on normal contacts. Advanced is already more expensive than normal contracts. And I think there is something left out from it that doesn't make it worth while - it could be night owl?
For future reference, from the link I posted:
If you’re online a lot and exceed your bundle, choose Vodacom Broadband Advanced.

This option offers the same in-bundle and out-of-bundle rates. Contract, Top Up and Prepaid customers pay the same rate per bundle. Broadband Advanced data bundles are available to all Vodacom Contract, Top Up and Prepaid customers either as a Month-to-month or Once-off purchase.
You are correct, Advanced is more expensive than Standard. Think of it as an OOB insurance.
I don't believe anything is left out with Advanced. Postpaid contracts get Night Owl, while Top Up and Prepaid don't.

So Jannie explained to us all that Vodacom has a lot of mechanisms in place so there faithful will not go OOB... Well the notification system they have in place does not work... and from where I am sitting, it might never work! It is really just starting to look like smoke and mirrors to me and Vodacom happily collects every OOB cent, rubbing their greedy hands.

I think this speaks for itself.

I have the MyGig 1 Internet Promo on my phone. Finished my data allocation for last month and about 70MB that was carried over from the previous month.

This morning I received my new 1GB data allocation and with that 8 SMS messages from Vodacom during the course of the day that I am out of bundle. WTF is going on.

Prepaid, TopUp or Contract, just to make sure?

Jannie, see this thread as well

Getting numerous SMSs about run out of bundle, I'm on contract with a once off data bundle. I agree I've almost run out but don't need numerous SMSs when I haven't been connected to 3G for hours

It's actually marine1's doing. He keeps on complaining that he never receives any usage notifications so I had the system changed to send up to 20 SMSs per day. ;)

Clearly something's broken, the guys are looking into it using the info I got from you guys.

So we got his smses?

Hey marine1, your data is deleted! :p

Why not kill the OOB while at it?
I did, years ago.

Called Advanced (OOB=IB) and TopUp (no OOB to start with) but people never took to Advanced (and I'm talking long before the 'promo' era kicked in when the pricing was only slightly more expensive). To the point where we'll likely drop it at some point.

Ah i was wondering wat the advanced option was. Thanks I'll use that next time. I assume the OOB=IB rates only last until the 30th of the following month?

I took the Advanced one when it came out. 2010? Still on it.

To be honest, the website sucked with regards to selecting a package. Some of my tech savvy colleagues also didnt know about the advanced one and they actually looked at the different packages. It was almost as if it was hidden on purpose.

Just received another SMS. Not even half way through my 1GB data allocation ant they tell me my data bundle is about to run out. :(
