Vodacom extends prepaid data promotion (May 2013)

There has been a reduction on the monthly recurring data bundles on contract. Old price for the 1gig was R249.00 per month not too long ago. It is now R149.00 per month...and though this is a recurring bundle...you may ask us to remove it from your account again no problem.

Uh R150/m for 1GB, I think not. I pay less than that for 2GB with a modem on a data top-up contract...

But it's cool VC ignore your customers that spend R2k+ a month on calls alone after the "free" minutes have run out.

My Vodacom pre-paid data purchases were charged to me at prices in-line with their current data promotion, This applies to the bank's Android banking app, as well with my browser-based bank-logins. However, I was also caught by surprise when buying data for my contract-based mobile, because pre-paid pricing was displayed on the mobile banking-app, but the contract-customer pricing was applied, and only discovered later on, when I looked at my bank statement. Buyer Beware...
