Vodacom getting iPhone 3G S this week?

So I called vodaworld yesterday, asked them when they'd be getting the S. I explained that I have a contract that I need to upgrade aswell. The guy on the phone said they should get their stock on the 2nd and I should come in this weekend and they could make a plan. He said they have not recieved official prices , but the promotions start on the 7th so should have it then. He said I can wait till then or alternatively just come in and make a plan with a pay in etc. Anyone else called ?

:erm: not on the dates given at the WWDC confrence. South Africa was on the July 9th list...

Is there a stand out feature that makes the S so much better? I've looked at the comparison on apple.com and gsmarena.com and can't really make anything out.

They are exactly the same size. The screen res looks the same. I'm not very technical but I'm considiering the iphone or N97. I seem to favour the iphone at the moment.

Well i guess the guy you spoke to about the 3GS was more clued up than the guy at the Vodashop i went to. He said probably in September lol

I have gone to about 10 Vodashops, none of them know anything about the 3GS. In fact, in most cases I had to explain to them that yes, there is a new iPhone. No, not the white one.

But if this is true I am very happy. I can upgrade now, and GF is very anxious to get my 3G...

Thats the exact response i got, they looked at me blankly as if i was talking spanish.
