Vodacom grows data revenue... in a year where many businesses folded in the recession... and many households struggled to pay their rent and bonds... let alone put food on the table...

Well done Vodacom! This is nothing to brag about... your socio-economic values are outstanding!

Wow, just wow. As much as I find Vodacom's high data pricing deplorable even with their so called packages. Your statement makes no sense at all.

His statement is saying that vodacom fails to address all stakeholders ... i.e. customers (Stakeholders are people who are involved with the company like suppliers, customers, shareholders, etc).

Socio-economic values are the ones that businesses should addear to in order to assist the economy and not just their own pockets.
He is basically saying that they are ripping people off, when people can't afford to be ripped off ... especially in the recession when many companies went bankrupt because they could not afford the expenses due to little sales, vodacom did
nothing to help ... and being such a large company with a big footprint, dropping their revenues in order to assist the economy may lookcrappy in the short term, but in the long term they would help their own customers stay in business
and stay their customers, and be better for the long term. Of course Vodacom is not the only culprit, but you should catch the drift now.
