Vodacom high end tech store

What a great place for some of the ANC officials to spend some "hard earned" cash...especially after a tough day at the office, fighting those damn colonialists and their evil anti-african western culture. Nothing captures the essence of rebellion quite as well as a R280K Swiss phone and a few Swarovski crystals on your Berry.

According to a store representative Vodacom brought in four units, two of which have already been sold. In addition, four units of a more luxurious Tag Heuer model (priced at R280 000) were also imported. These have since been sold; two to an anonymous customer.
Paying R280,000 for a mobile phone...someone is not doing badly in this recession as S&B pointed out.

Now I understand why telecoms companies in this country think their tariffs are cheap.

R280,000 for an ugly rather featureless phone is obscene. Countless people are trying to scratch together a basic living for themselves while someone has the funds to spend on that low-tech piece of junk? I'm all for capitalism but something is seriously wrong with this picture.

Some how having "Tough Day in the office" and ANC in the same sentence made me fall off my chair.

:p

It took me about four attempts to finish off the sarcasm in that sentence, my bowel movements kept getting in the way.

is this a shop by Vodacom, made for Vodacom fatcats?

Relying on the old adage...

A fool and his money are soon parted. ;)

Even if one could afford these luxurious items, it's still a complete waste. You can get a really top-end PC for around R20-25k if you know the right people. Anyway above that is just gimmicky...
