Vodacom iPhone 5S, 5C pre-registration opens; launch “soon”

Vodacom has opened “pre-registration” for the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, saying it will hit local shores soon

Vodacom encouraged people interested in the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C to register on their website “to receive further information such as the launch details and great deals”.

The Vodacom website clarified that this is not a pre-order and doesn’t guarantee a handset.

So, what is the point of "registration", apart from authorising Vodacom to send you SPAM?

"Soon" means really anything from now till January - pretty much like last year. Other than used for spamming people no real use - would be much better to allow people to properly pre-order.... Perhaps CellC or MTN gets it right this year around...
