Hi people, Has anybody been able to get a Vodacom K3772-z modem to work with an MTN simcard? I have tried joinair without any luck. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm not sure which modem that is, but any 3G modem should work on any network. It is illegal for the cellphone operators to network-lock their modems or phones.

So you should be able to put any SIM card into any modem, and it will work. Of course, you must match the radio band of the modem with that of the operators 3G network. But that really only applies to Cell C - you need a modem that supports UMTS on the 900mhz band in order to use Cell C HSPA+, otherwise you will only be able to connect at EDGE or GPRS speeds.

I have tried using the modem and MTN simcard with the Voacom Dashboard will using the MTN Dashboard make any difference?

No, Vodafone sotware will work only with Vodacom SIM card. You can still use Windows dialup or third-party software like MDMA assuming that Vodafone dashboard is unloaded from the memory (including Systray).
