The whole world is moving away from complicated tariffs and plans and yet here, in SA, the duopoly is duking it out to see who can come up with the most innovative repackaging of the same old tariffs to add to their ever-growing list of packages and plans.

This is why Huawei and Nokia loves them so much.

The technical overhead of running all these different tariffs and plans makes for a lot of expensive equipment.

Not to mention the administrative and financial overheads of billing for all of them.

Yup, stuck with them playing tariff-chicken for the foreseeable future.
 
So which wagie in the marketing dept is going to claim this was their idea and demand R21bn, even though they copied it from MTN.

Agree… if you can’t port over or use an existing number it’s just as useless as when MTN launched theirs. I assume they will do the same and allow for port and existing numbers in the next couple weeks.

Otherwise I have family members that are going to port over to MTN for their SuperFlex option.

…also an interesting question haha. Probably not allow new users but let the existing ones continue, at least that’s what I’d hope.

Yip. I did. The eSIM for the Apple Watch is nice to have (actually not sure if Melon support it) and then I’m not too keen on testing out the network/ availability on a roaming partner - MVNO… my assumption is that Vodacom and MTN will have the best coverage and reach across SA.

Still the same according to the Vodacom website and ordering cart. New numbers only, no porting option.

I think most people are recommending the Melon mobile deals as it's is basically the same value, without any of the restriction and available at multiple data bundle price points
