Just got an iphone with a 110MB Data Bundle. Very Excited. Yesterday = 1feb =110 MB available for February.

Looked at my data balance on Vodacom website this morning. Usage = 59 MB for Feb. My phone has had Cellular Data = OFF the whole entire time since 31 Jan and it is still off as I write!!!!

Logged a support ticket. But I'm not sure what to do about this. I can't make it into an multi-hour mission to and fro-ing with Vodacom to prove that I'm not using the 3G connection.

Is there a way to disable 3G by Vodacom so that I can still use WiFi?

I just don't have the kind of life where I have the time to hassle with a Vodacom follow up. Took ten minutes and 2 dropped calls before I could log the problem with a human at their customer care. I can see where this is headed.....

Any advice anyone?? Help Please?!

Just deleted the apn for cellular data and mms. Surely that is definitive? There is now no way that it can go online even accidentall?

That is certainly not normal behavior, 59mb in a day is not right. Yes if Cellular Data was turned Off there should be no way anything could have been sent/received. I am not sure if the Cellular Data switch also applies to Notifications, pretty sure it would block them from coming over the cell network too. I have Cell Data ON and I use Push and I still don't manage to get through my 110MB and I tweet, check email and all sorts when not in wifi range.
One person suggested changing the APN, that will work as then there is just NO WAY it can work as it doesn't know what to talk to. I did read once that having that set wrong can chow you battery life a little bit more, that was something I read a few years back so may not apply anymore, but worth keeping an eye on.

My IPhone logs 0 bytes sent, 0 bytes received. I deleted the APNs for Cellular and MMS as well!

The interesting thing that I've just discovered is that the Itemised Billing Report doesn't correlate with the Data Balances options. The Itemised Billing Report says I've used 305K which is more than possible!

I am going to assume that the itemised billing report is the one used for billing (not the stupid data balances thing). Got an sms from vodacoN saying that they would get back to me within 14 WORKING DAYS. They must be kidding. Am going to investigate alternatives to them. WAY TO LOSE CUSTOMERS.....
