Vodacom-Neotel deal facing challenges

...i really cannot see a positive outcome for this deal - irrespective of the merits there is just too much legal grey on the ICASA side.

The issue I see is not whether or not the merger is allowed, but government being able to attach appropriate conditions which stimulate competition across the industry

First good news since Vumatel and 123Net.

We are a little bit bordering the limit here because it’s more than nine months, almost a year, and we don’t see the end of it,” Colao told Bloomberg.
Just like we entities you like to call customers don't see an end to your high prices?

He also told CNBC the delay is particularly damaging considering what Vodacom is trying to achieve. “We are stepping up and taking the role of being the second network operator.”
No you are lapping up its assets for a rather attractive price. You don't need Neotel if you wanted to play the role of an SNO and just like Neotel you will blame LLU for not having a fixed line presence.

ITO services, network, and products Neotel has done good in a short space of time. They really dont need vodaskcum

It's amazing how many people are in favour of this deal. As if we haven't seen the effects of too little competition yet and Vodacom keeping the status quo with its partner in bed MTN.
