JHB seems down too, damn Vodacom. Now I wish i had a BB, seeing that there doesn't seem to be a problem. It's so nice, they screw us around and we can't do a thing, but let my bill be two days late, it's like I got a hostage, line cut off and debt collectors calling.

I offer tech support, and when clients cannot get hold of me i loose money.

Time to put an alternate mtn number on my business cards?

As said previously, MTN also has issues.

Many of us in the same boat. Problem is to carry 2 phones is a pain, or have to get dual sim phone - not many available.
Now if i had gone and used a CellC or other network SIM in my new BB 9780 I would have lost the warranty from Vodacom too.

Wonder if I had done this whether I have any protection from CPA or other laws due to Vodacom's inability to provide me with relaible service today?

Also wonder about the class-action possibility others have been speculating about?

Kom nou Jannie, skakel daai ding maar weer aan.

LOL!

What do you think I just did? :D

Lots of conspiracy theories flying around I see. Marine1 must think he's in heaven.

To recap; It was multiple transmission failures isolating a very critical node.

Nothing at all to do with RICA, well see how that goes tonight, I guess. Certain services / numbers affected while others were OK. I lost my handset but my iPad was (mostly) up. This is just a reflection of the underlying network design which tries to balance the network over multiple bits of kit.

If I get more info, I'll pass it along.

jannie you can say what you like I am getting sick and tired of vodacom and their lack of service. What about redundancy? Yes you may think this is heaven for me but is it really? I lost money today due to this issue as did others. All we hear if pr from vodacom all day every day.
Sorry but pissed off and then you try make out like I am happy about this? right back at you. I have been complaining about signal for some time but yet its always that individual customer??

What node dropped Jannie? Where was the redundancy? Must have been Core side. Hope you guys sort it out soon.
