Vodacom One Number and Apple Watch - Multiple Issues

I’m waiting patiently for Vodacom which has now said to me the problem will be fixed on the 5th of November. If it’s not I’ll move to MTN .. it is not the watch it’s a technical issue with Vodacom.
I've spent months trying to get MTN to work, but kept hitting the same wall with the standard "System is down" response. Now that I've switched to Vodacom, I'm facing the same issue. My watch simply says "waiting," and no one seems to know how to activate it. Both online and in-store staff are at a loss for answers. I keep trying to activate it every day, hoping that one day it will finally work.

In my case, I got my watch two years ago and couldn’t activate it due to some random issue with my specific cellphone number. The trick was that the branch staff had to create a ticket for the back-office technical team to investigate and resolve the matter … which they did after a couple weeks. So for what it’s worth, I recommend asking for a ticket to be created for your case if one hasn’t already been.

A friend of mine switched to MTN contract on the 1/11/24 and his ultra 2 is working

Just got feedback from Vodacom … they now telling me it’s an issue with Apple and Samsung😎 the matter will be sorted by midnight tonight the problem should be sorted. So let’s see tomorrow… we can only hope

I agree…. I personally give them now till tomorrow and if it’s not sorted I’ll go to MTN

For the 1st time this morning the watch app on my I phone and my ultra 2 accepted the cellular connection… it’s just pending at moment… I’ll post as soon as it works… at least I did not get an error message

Ok so my one number is finally working. Go to settings reset everything sim related. Reset sim settings and call Vodacom ask them to sync your SIM. (You might have to do this 2 or 3 times) Reboot phone and watch. Wait about 4 to 12 hours and magic.

Thank you so much for the information , I was about to lose my mind as this is extremely frustrating to say the least. Let's monitor and hopefully end of this week we will be able to have some joy.
Guys give it your best shot. I was able to get my One Number activated a few minutes ago and the Vodacom service is now set to waiting. I do know that it takes some time before "going live". Let me know how it goes.

Lets be honest , they are consisdent , at the amount of bullshit they are willing to spread , let me know how many people are willing to act and take this to ICASA , I am done listening to their bullshit and paying their CEO 61 million rand per year for pretenting they are the best and the top employerr in S.A. , I know why , employees are kept in the dark so they do not know but the product they advertise does not work , Vodacom Onenumber is public enemy number one !
Sooooo....they appear to have the web interface working like a bomb. But that's it. Goes into the "waiting" queue and you receive a warm welcoming email to tell you that you have now had your ONE NUMBER successfully activated!!! YAY and that's all. Hours later your watch simply reverts to "please connect" and you start all over again. Long story short I've been welcomed warmly 3 times. Jissusssss Fransien all I want is my bloody watch to work.
UPDATE 08 November 2024: So I did the entire connection thingy againnnnn BUT I then called Voda and asked them to resync my sim which they duly did. Voila it's working albeit that it took an overnight wait to get everything to work. So please don't stand on your Ultra2 just run through the setup and call Voda and ask them to resync your sim. Good luck!

Mine keeps on saying waiting and disappears . Start process again.. so it’s not working . F……. Vodacom . Time to move

I had a similar issue with my AW Ultra (1) about 2 months ago so deactivated the service on the AW app on the iphone, reset the watch to factory defaults, re-paired and reactivated One Number and it worked perfectly since then........until yesterday when it disconnected with "no sim" showing in the "Mobile Service" setting on the AW. I went through the same reactivation process but this time it shows Vodacom-waiting on the Mobile Service settting (iphone AW app). There hasn't been any movement at all. The last time I activated it (2 months back) the 'waiting' message was only there for 5 seconds and it connected.

......anyway, I'm still waiting........Vodacom thinks their part of the process is finished (i.e. a message is sent that everything is up and running) but the AW isn't convinced so it's waiting for more. Problem is this isn't going to happen because they're both waiting for each other!!

Gets worse, managed to get to the "Waiting" part, but it fails and now not receiving SMS's and no one can phone me. Outgoing calls and data are fine.
So over Vodacom. Their current resolution is I must take my phone to a Vodacom store.

So today I received my Vodacom invoice, I have been charged 3 times activation fees for Vodacom Onenumber, I have been charged 3 times subscription fees for Vodacom Onenumber , so yes this is getting more and more frustrating by the second, and the service does not even work, WTF !!!!!

In my case the phone and watch (in local mode) are fine and Vodacom's solution is also to take it into the Vodacom store but that won't help anyway if it's a system problem?? I just got off another call with the call center and they also repeated the ongoing OneNumber issue with iPhone/Apple Watch eSim activation, but my AW mobile service was good until yesterday so that fault has nothing to do with activation. Now I have an activation problem!! Anyway, I think that the problem runs deeper than activation.
