Vodacom prepaid data prices slashed

That R2mb OOB shark...

On prepaid the OOB shark is completely irrelevant.

How so? On Cell C prepaid you pay the same price as you do in and out of bundle on their other contracts. In fact, it's 15c / Meg no matter what you buy. Sorry Vodascum, you're just not keeping up.
(and there's no asymmetrical MTR here, so they really have no excuses.)

On prepaid once your data bundle is finished, that's it, you get cut off immediately unless you're stupid enough to have a prepaid balance that the OOB shark can get his hands on.

On contract, when your data bundle is finished, the OOB shark comes out to play and you start racking up huge bills at R2 per MB.

Oh, right. Haven't used an old school Service Provider for a while so I forgot how these things work.

All well and good for 3G dongle users.

If adding data to a smartphone, you need airtime for calls and ****. This is bait for the OOB shark.

It's a pain in the arse having to micro-manage data for fear of getting bitten.

CellC is easy in comparison.

Well, smartphones have a phone function so one could be "stupid enough to have a prepaid balance" so one can make calls... ;)

Just so you guys know, the data bundles purchased under this promotion don't expire on the last day of the following month... The data is only valid for 30 days.

I wouldn't suggest the 20Gb bundle unless you're really going to use it.

No, these "deals" suck. 20GB for R499 was a good deal back in Dec 2011, but not anymore. Cell C's giga200 is a much better deal and it's valid for 365 days, not 30 days!
