Vodacom prepaid data prices slashed

MyBB always gets us excited with the headline ... to then be dumped back to earth with a hard bang when we read that this is only a promotion. And in this case a one month promotion ... hardly worth headline news!

I am so confused with these "promos", that I honestly don't know what's happening anymore with my account.

Bought the 250MB data promo for R59 (or something), but now it's not listed on monthly or once-off data bundles anymore.

When did it run out? Will it still renew for next month?

I.am.sick.and.tired.of.Vodacom's.bloody.promos.

The 20GB package was like R3199 now it it R499 is this not more than 84% reduction???

Nice, thanks VC. I presume same window still applies and data will expire end of next month.

I agree 100%.

I really don't understand Vodacom's strategy. These promotions might keep existing customers happy for another month, but it's not going to attract anyone to switch to their network, because the out of promo costs are not competitive. Vodacom have become totally defensive and reactionary; the sign of a company that has peaked and is on the way down!

They give you (Vodacon victims) these reductions in April only? They are indirectly telling you what they think of you and I don't see any reason to be excited about a one month expensive promo when you should be paying way less on standard for most of the bundles.

One month? Really not worth moving back to vodacom for that.

R499 for 20GB? I am sure you can get an uncapped ADSL package for that. Once you got ADSL all your heavy downloading is done on that, although not the fastest but you are not worried about letting the download run through the night. Then really 2GB mobile is pretty good for when you are out and about. Well that is how I use my Internet anyway. I guess they are after the holiday traffic, sad that when you are on holiday you spend 20GB on the net lol.

This is for everyone complaining about this only lasting a month.

The reason why all the operators are launching "promos" when they introduce new pricing is that they don't need to have the pricing approved by ICASA(IKAKA) first. They will just extend this promo into infinity same as they did with the 2GB for R149 contract "promo" that's still available, like 3 years later.

Why does the price that's meant to be attractive seem to be sooo expensive when compared to CelC, e.g. 2gig with C is only 99 rand (and it's not even a special or gimmick)

Well done on vodacom but needs to be longer :p

I would guess that Vodacom is trying to curb data abuse. We all data hungry and I suspect all the abusers are on cell c or 8ta.

Are those prices some kind of a sick joke?? R249 for 2 gigs, seriously?? :wtf:
