Vodacom prepaid data prices slashed

Having 20GB expire in 30 days is not cool though. That one should last for a longer time.

Just to confirm: Cell C and 8ta expire data at the end of the following month?

From the 8ta terms and conditions - direct copy and paste...

The Prepaid Once-Off Internet 2GB + 1GB Night Surfer bundle expires at the end of the following calendar month from date of purchase.

Of course the benefit of that arrangement is that, if you buy early in the month, you can get 2 month's usage, instread of only 30 days.

Ok, the posts are coming in thick and fast re: expiry date, so Jannie can you confirm that if i bought the 20GB today 27 March 2013 will it then expire on the 27 April 2013?

Doesn't really matter when the data is cheap.

8ta's 10GB for R199 "promo" has run for almost 2 years and will run for another 2 years if someone buys now. So that's 4 years of 10GB per month for R199. If people call that a promo then every other price on the market is also a promo.

CellC has 15c/mb data rates, in-bundle and out of bundle. So there is no need to buy a data bundle and thus no need for carryover.

Exactly what I was trying to point out to Jannie, but he didn't appear to be aware of this - which is why I did a copy/paste from their terms and conditions so he could see for himself

8ta data ends at the end of the following calendar month - so essentially 60 days
Cell C specials last 365 days

If Vodacom data lasted this long, then they are seriously competing, and are welcome to have my money. But they cannot, so 8ta and Cell C are getting my money

Purchased 20gig bundle, money gone from airtime but bundle not loaded on *111#
Edit: I just downloaded a 500mb file and none of my airtime was consumed, so the bundle is active, just not reflecting on *111#

It actually does reflect, when using USSD to check data go to the next menu and select Once Off Promotional. I thought the same until I figured it out.

The problem is that it doesn't show in the Vodacom customer portal. Now I have to take my sim card out of my router and put it in a phone to use USSD every time I want to check my balance.

Wish they could make these prices permanent instead of a promotion the 500mb for R99 is perfect for most smartphone users.
