Vodacom Select vs DStv Compact

I cant believe neither include Mnet.

Suits me fine.
I only ever watched Series channel and ActionX, with a bit of Discovery - but the repeats killed me.

Only thing is, I can *get* Compact - local Vodacom outlet advertises Select, but no one knows what I need to do to subscribe.

The table neglects to include the differences in DMX audio. Vodacom select only offers 4 DMX channels. DSTV Compact offers the full range of DMX channels including all the radio stations like 702, Jacaranda, BBC etc.

Action X?

Fashion TV?

Let be honest both options suck without M-net.

Give me 5 decent channels for the same price

M-net
National Geographic
Discovery
History
BBC prime

I would take that for R139.00

I have not watched a single thing on MNET in all the time I have had DSTV.
Not one thing.

Sure I may be a small minority here, but that is what different packages cater for.

We have received a few calls from people wanting to know about Vodacom's offer, seem to think we are vendors of sorts ....

Found a link on their website: http://www.vodacom.co.za/services/dstv_select/what.jsp

still looks rather poor. what we all want is to choose our own damn channels, but alas, this seems to fall on deaf ears and in my opinion, ones that are deliberately not listening.

They should give packages where you the client can select what you want to watch and charge per channel. I guess that's why it's called 'Vodacom Select'.

Vodacom Select vs DStv Compact selections sucks big time.

Its an easy mistake to make. They certainly appear to be be the most editorially favoured company on this site in terms of news coverage. There seems to be a direct link from Vodacom's lips to MyADSL's ears.

Then again, they may just have the most effect PR division. They certainly have the most effective forum rep.

Sod these stupid bouquets... give me the option to subscribe per channel. Because really, who the hell wants Parliament on their TV? :D

I actually asked DSTV about that once and they basically told me to go die. Pity as I'm sure they'd get a ton of people signing up.
