Guys,

For those of you who qualify i.t.o BEE criteria, don't forget to go out and buy some Vodacom shares. The offer is currently open.

:)

Vodacom BEE shares vs MTN (Open shares)

=

No contest :D

Rather go to a broker and get MTN shares ;)

Does being disabled and white count as BEE? Someone asked me the other day if they could qualify with a letter from their doctor as "previously disadvantaged" in terms of their disability -so can they buy vodacom shares under that BEE offer? (Disability counts like 5% on a corporate BEE compliance scorecard)

I take it by 10, 20, etc you mean in thousands cause the minimum is 100.

I only bought the minimum (cash is low bro). Just testing waters here...

I'm going to apply, saying I consider myself black. I wonder if someone will stick a pencil in my hair.

Where can one get the prospectus online?

Good to be cautious too.
I just dont want to invest a little bit and then as soon as the shares list it shoots up to R100!!
Ill be a bit ticked off!:p

Any other whiteys want to club together with me, claim to be black, and apply for 100 shares?

/not kidding

I don't have 2.5k lying around, but if two or three others want to join me...? We can compose our own consortium. In the spirit of naming telecoms consortiums after large animals, We'll name it the Black P.A.N.D.A. Consortium. Our crest will feature an HB pencil :D

//still not kidding

Come on all you armchair activists! It's called passive resistance! This is the first civilised step, before we blow up people in bars!

OMG, Debbie has been invaded by the spirit of Robert.

Back away from the coffee, Debs ... ;)

Well, actually, constitutionally you can still argue that the "blacks only" thing is a contradiction of your basic right to earn a living, so .. it will make for an extremely interesting court case before you get to the prison stage.
