I think this has been discussed before , but would I need to change my settings on my MTN E220 to allow a Vodacom sim to work as I now at the end of my tether with MTN .

Hey robass

It will work but you need to change the APN to internet.

Out of interest, how do you change the APN? I've always just dials *99# or something.

Never bothered installing the Vodacom or MTN software.

P.s did you know you can download our software off the vodacom site free of charge ?

Right Click My Computer

Select Manage

Click on Device Manager

Expand Modems

Right Click on the 3G Modem

Select Properties

Click on the Advanced Tab

Add the following:

AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet"

None of these work , please I need help as my data with MTN is depleting and I am reluctant to get more .

Would I be able to take my MTN e220 to a Vodashop and ask them to set it up for me or will they tell me to F - Off ?

OK finally got it to work by downloading Mobile Partner . Is there any way that you can check your megs without having to remove the sim and inserting into your phone then dialing the 111 number ?

Thanks Ginggs , I did that , but when I type in *111# , it tells me "*** bad USSD response received ***"

Have you already registered your SIM on the network?
Could also be a temporary problem on the system, is it still happening?
How do you convert airtime to Data , using mdma , I can do it with MTN but not with Vodacom ?
You should just be able to do it using the menu on *111#.
