Vodacom Smart Plans pricing with and without devices

Well from what i can see, Cell C offers better value when it comes to billing however they do not seem to subsidize the phones they sell on contract, so the monthly cost seems to still work out cheaper if u take out a Vodacom contract.

Wooo! So complex & Expensive. I'm sorry you have to be dumb & ignorant (Vodacon is counting on that) to sign on this sh@t spewed by Vodacon. Cell C still wins

I just don't understand why these offerings were rolled out?
I have an existing iPhone talk 240 package which costs me R450pm for package + R50pm for the phone
For this I get 240mins + 500mb data + 100sms
This new offering seems like a step backwards

i would like a network to give me this website:

1. what is your monthly budget?
2. please prioritize your spend: [voice | data | sms | hardware]
3. how much of your budget do you want to spend on priority option 1, 2, 3, 4 (calculates hardware options accordingly)

thanks for choosing your options.
your out of bundle rates on voice, data and sms will be the following ...
i see you're an existing customer. we have your details on record and don't need to go through that fica bs.
if you chose hardware, it will be delivered within x days. here is the tracking number.
in compliance with the cpa, here are your rights ...
if you would like to renegotiate your contract or change value adds, please log in and repeat this process.

does something like this exist?

i currently have the smart 250 package. R450, 500MB, 200 min anytime per-second billing, 200 sms. was about a R2k pay-in on the S2 in june 2011.

They just never seem to quite hit the spot and customers are always left with the option of choosing from bad deals.

I wholly hate the rigidness of these deals.

On the other hand, while I like the flexibility of Cell C's system, the fact that they do not have a pay-in option is regrettable.

How stupid, who came up with this?
All Vodacom need to do is launch a 1GB bolt on data bundle for R99.
How hard is that?
Thats what I need and im sure all smartphone users will opt for it.

Which is why they won't do it. They're definitely not stupid, just enormously greedy. They know very well what people want/need.

All I want from Vodacom is a 3 - 5GB bolt-on valid for 365 days. Whishfull thinking.

These smart plans offers a ton of free sms's.... like wtf... who sms nowadays?! What a waste.

i must say that the sms's are something that is nice to have. i use them. know a few people who don't have smartphones...

this by far is the most logical thing I have ever read

????
Contract without device R79 for 75 min OFF-PEAK
Prepaid, without device R0.99 p/min ANYTIME
Both from Vodacom, go figure

Cell C even better R0.99 p/min anywhere, anytime

there seems to be much confusion as to whether the SP's are actually better value. Are they? Plus when will they implement per sec. billing? Ever?

On Vodacom the S2 is R299 per month for 75 off peak minutes, 100 sms and 100 MB data
For the same price on Cell C you get 65 anytime minutes, 50 sms and 100 MB of data.
(Cell C has the S2 for R249 on Straightup 50, so add 50 MB for R35 and add 15 minutes OOB at 99c/min)

Plus you can bolt on a further 300MB for an additional R40.

That 75min offpeak from Voda is completely useless.
