Vodacom Telmap GPS navigation app for 9810 won't work

Hi, wondering if anyone can help setup the telmap navigation app? I installed it but it wont work on my Torch 9810.

Keeps saying "Network timeout. Please check network settings and try again. If problem persists, contact customer support". Sometimes it says "internal error, restart application". I've of course tried restarting, reinstalling, battery pulls etc.

The main problem is that I don't get even get a menu option within the app to change settings or anything like that, which leaves me no room to try adjusting network settings, or something.

Any help will be appreciated. Failing that any suggestions for an alternative app for voice -turn by turn navigation will be mucho welcome.

Works on mine, but quite slow. I paid for Garmap, and it's pretty decent.
