Hi all:)

My Top Up 135 contract comes up for renewal in about a month's time and I was wondering what specials you guys were getting on this contract.:)

I did check out the Samsung i600 in the last issue of Vodaworld magazine, but this phone is unlikely to be available on my contract. Also from recent advertising I did see that the E220 HSDPA modem was avaible on a top up 135 contract. Is the new Slipstream modems also avaible on this contract?

Thanks:)

Go to your nearest Vodashop and have them create a deal for you with that Modem and that Contract.

Be smart move to Weekender you get muuuuch better upgrade deals for almost the same price.

The E220 and the Slip Stream are around the same price so why would you have to pay in for the Slip Stream and not the E220 on contract renewal?

I think the Slipstream is R250 more than the E220, thats probably why you have to pay in that bit.

What's the highest value device you can get for free on the top up 135?

Spoke to one of the guys here. He said the highest value device up to R2500 or less. He didnt specify which device though...

I currently have a Motorola V1050 (from VC) and a E220 (from MTN). With regards to the Vodacom upgrade I have 3 choices as I see it:
  1. Motorola V3x (pay in R349) - similar features to the V1050 with the following addtional features:
    • Bluetooth
    • 2Mp camera as apposed to a 1.3.
    • Better battery life
  2. Slipstream modem (pay in R250) - advantages over E220
    • Better reception due to external antennae.
    • Supports 7.2 Mbps as apposed to 3.6 Mbps
  3. A laptop (obviously I have to pay in)

Perhaps you have the specs of the laptops Vodacom offer and also a rough estimate of how much I will have to pay in?:)

Thanks:)

I don't think the Slipstream gives enough of an incremental improvement over the E220 to warrant having both.

I could always sell the E220;) But for the time being I'm more interested in researching the laptop option:) Perhaps you have some info for me?:) Also I could move up from the top up 135 to the top up 200 seeing that I already buy more air time for the 500 MB data bundle.

The reason I was trying to get info here was that I wouldn't be embarrassed if I couldn't afford it. But thanks anyway. I'd be willing to pay in up to R3000 if the laptop had decent specs.

At the moment there are only 4 laptop deals. None them require a pay in. Or do you want a laptop on a Family Top-Up?

I just asked one of the guys. Laptops arent available on any other contract that its own.
