Anyone have some info on this?
I received an sms from Vodacom checking if I still use my email with a link to "learn more"
The link says you will need to pay R29 for "so called premium vodamail" or your mailbox will be deleted...
Discontinued Vodacom Email
1. What is Vodacom Email?
a. It is an email service provided by Vodacom that offers Vodacom customers access to a 3GB or 5GB inbox upon activation of the service

2. How long have I had Vodacom Email?
a. This depends on when you activated the Vodacom Email service via the Vodacom Website or if the Vodacom Email service was activated due to a promotion available to MBB and MI customers on selected packages
3. Why is the Vodacom Email service being discontinued?
a. Vodacom Email services that are not accessed for more than 90 days will be deleted due to inactivity
b. For active users, the Vodacom email service is being updated to a new, enhanced service to continue to provide a quality email service to customers – this requires a migration to a new platform and the deletion of the old one
4. What happens if I choose to keep my Vodacom Email service?
a. All customers choosing to keep their Vodacom Email service will be migrated to a new, enhanced premium service at a fee
5. How much does Vodacom Email premium service cost?
a. The premium service costs R29 per month
6. What happens if I choose to not keep my Vodacom Email service?
a. After 30 days of the receipt of the deletion SMS your Vodacom Email service will be discontinued
7. What happens to my emails if I choose not keep my Vodacom Email service?
a. Once your Vodacom Email service is discontinued all emails on the Vodacom Email platform (including those sent, received, drafted or archived) will be deleted
b. Note this does not include any emails downloaded locally to an email client (e.g. Outlook, Gmail, etc.)
8. What should I do if I want to keep my old emails?
a. Prior to discontinuation of the service all emails should be downloaded to a local PC client (e.g. Outlook, Gmail, etc.) or should be forwarded to another email address
9. What will happen to emails sent to my email address after discontinuation?
a. All emails sent to a deleted Vodacom Email account will not be delivered as the email account will no longer exist
10. Can I access my Vodacom Email after it’s been discontinued?
a. No, once your Vodacom Email service has been deleted the account and emails will not be accessible
11. Will the discontinuation of the Vodacom Email service affect my cellphone number?
a. No, your Vodacom cellphone number will not be affected.
