Yes and no. Fixed line ADSL is not what they're after. Fixed line fibre on the other hand...
But there are some issues on that front as well. Closed access fibre doesn't create the most competitive of environments for the consumer to benefit from, and if the market is
proliferated with closed access fibre then you'll find further duopolistic market approaches encroaching in the future. Closed access however does have its place in the market in terms of cost vs benefit as well.
Vodacom's fibre network is solid though, and the reliance on IPC is less, meaning we could see some seriously competitive pricing in this market in the not-too-distant future.
