Vodacom website frustrates subscribers

They need to fix that phone section, that horrible tiny-font flash app is just not on. Not all of us have 20/20 vision, and it's not zoomable.

the vodacom.co.za does not send sms's they just say pending while the vodacom4me website sends them as soon as you click send. Why is it that one works and the other one does not work if they integrated.

With respect to the Vodacom4Me site, we took the decision to integrate this with Vodacom.co.za as part of a wider strategy to make customer interaction with Vodacom as straightforward as possible ...” said Vodacom’s spokesperson Richard Boorman.

If this is what "straightforward" is heaven help us if they try to develop something with even a tinly ittle twist...

EPIC FAIL

They probably paid some contractor vast piles of money to produce this crap. Go Figure.

I think it is the same clowns who tried to develop that vcwin site that was just as pathetic

Always amazes me how companies with mega billions in revenues, have the crappest websites

Now here is a hot website which you would never expect, considering from who it is ;-)

Warning - NSFW

“The site was of course tested prior to launch, but due to some changes in backend systems and the addition of other functionality there have been teething problems that we are working hard to resolve.”

LOL!!!! This is the same excuse I give my clients when their software doesn't work correctly.

I got a letter from them last year saying I can download anything off vodacom4me without it affecting my datacap.
Downloaded the modem software to install on a server and it swallowed my entire cap.

Stop complaining you louts try the Neotel site that has F***-all functionality and is about 2 years out of date. All you see is flash pictures of there management team grinning at how well they have managed to rip the customers off and some idiot picking his nose with his sunglasses, I think he is trying to change his mind about working for Neosnail.

I'm sorry, but the Vodacom website is garbage compared to the old site, and that wasn't anything sent from above.

Apart from the very vague menu descriptions, finding the exact thing you want is unnecessarily such a mission. To top it off, it honestly looks like one of those advertising websites you come across when you get a letter wrong in a URL.

All in all, yet another fail! Just like the new Supersport website.

And here I was expecting that possibly in Vodacom's response there would be something akin to an apology, but no instead we get fed nonsense about last minutes changes. If you change things at the last minute then all your testing becomes invalid, which means that you have not done any testing. Also claiming that the old site is still fully functional is not true, because the backend changes that have been made to accommodate the new site affect how things like data bundle balances are reflected on v4me.

All the v4me site needed IMO was a bit more resources so it could take the month end punch with billing runs and client access. Why could Vodacom not address that rather than replace the whole entirely?

Totally agree. The 4me site always times out and is almost impossible to get basic details like my usage or reports.

The main Vodacom website is a complete disaster. Recently I tried to change my package I am on, but the only information about each package is what the phone calls cost in different brackets (ie, V to V, V to Telkom, V to other network, etc). There is no description of the package, what it costs, or even what you get with it. I went for the Smart 120 where you get data and SMS with 120 minutes, but on the website there is NO information about the amount of data or sms or nothing.

For one of the richest companies in the country who is constantly trying to blow their money on more and more sponsorships (think Vodacom Bulls vs Vodacom Stormers in die Vodacom Super 14 Cup) to limit the amount of tax they pay, you WOULD think they could at least come out with a half decent website. But it looks like the idiots who built this site spent all their time trying to make it look fancy with drag and drop elements that is useless, but no real meat to it.

EPIC FAIL.

I can use the website with out a problem, lucky me I guess :p Their customer care is still up to shyt though.

I have always been disgusted by vodacom.co.za as well as vodacom4me.co.za

Never mind trying to check your 3g balance towards the end or beginning of a month, there's always a technical issue. That way 5 days before the month is up you don't know how much you can download and nothing carries over..... IF you really want to know your balance you need to pop your sim card into a phone and do the *111# balance enquiry for data bundle. Crazy!

Just try not to hire any of those developers for a project.

Must be the worst site I have seen from such a prominent SA company.

EPIC FAIL
