Vodacom working on simpler pre-paid data

A switch/porting to Cell C will move consumers away from expensive R2.00 per MB data charges.:whistle:
 
Wow! I am quite shocked at the way VodacoN is being run in South Africa. :wtf:

Announcements of promotions then retraction of announcements, renewing opaque promotions, price increases and then announcements to say they need simpler systems. :confused:

This 'announcement' will also soon be retracted. :sick:

Their management team can be grateful that they are not in a very competitive market. :o

Keep it up guys, as I am closing in on my target on my short position of your stock. :D
 
Maybe Vodacom customers do need simpler things. If they were smarter and wanted to save money they wouldn't be with Vodacom. (assuming they have 8ta or CellC coverage, which most people do have)

Vodacom is currently investigating more convenient ways for their customers to purchase data, and will announce details about this initiative in the near future.

Here's a hint Vodacom .. try and make it cheap! It's quite inconvenient to pay R300 a gig.
 
Been a Vodacom customer since 2008, but I'm really tired of their super expensive and mega confusing voice and data plans.

Just want to sit my contract out and then move to 8ta or CellC.
 
I suspect that Vodacom has caught a wakeup and noticed that Vodacom has far fewer prepaid data customers, and has somehow jumped to the illogical conclusion that customers are leaving Vodacom for competitors that do sell prepaid data bundle "vouchers", instead of the far more obvious reality that people are getting their data at reasonable prices elsewhere.
 
At least you can buy data. With Cell C prepaid I can not even buy data for my tablet.
 
I am already at 1.9 gig data for the month on CellC, 500m data bundle and the rest oob. Unbilled balance R178.00, and yes on my tablet. Vodacom can kiss my ass.

I would love to hear him defend their R2 OOB.
I myself (and others that I know of) has been victim of the Vodacon OOB shark. For me it was about R1400!!! (new android phone and data happy apps was to blame).

I. CANNOT.WAIT. FOR.MY.CONTRACT.WITH.VODACON.TO.EXPIRE.
Good riddance.

Some rubbish about going Advance VS standard data. Like anyone who isnt clued up knows what that it.

Vodacom advanced data costs slightly more than their normal bundles. Worth it for people who go OOB. However, versus CellC it looks really bad. eg.

1GB on Vodacom advanced = R285
1GB on CellC = R150

500MB on Vodacom advanced = R185
500MB on CellC = R75

CellC is even better than this suggests though since you can buy a smaller bundle and only use what you need. eg. Buy a 100mb bundle instead of a 500mb bundle and use say 300mb for a total of R45. The next month you might use a full 1GB for R150. You can't really do this on Vodacom because the price per mb increases substantially for the smaller bundles.
 
Can anyone tell me why Vodacom still has broadband standard and advanced?

Was there ever a justification for it?
