Vodacom's new branded Android Smartphone

Quite impressive, I guess the phone is locked into vodacom. I am sure the fixes for that will be out soon...I hope. Ahhhh no support for WiFi just moved from impressive to a load of crap.

would be interesting for a head to head shootout of the smart 4 mini VS the MTN Steppa. Cost, specs, deals. should be fun to read

Also, make Jan use it for a week and do a review :)

I think the only thing that I don't like about this device is the memory. It's borderline. One can expand space by adding SD, but you're stuck at 512 MB memory. And that's just a wee bit too tight. They should have added another 256 or preferably 512 MB.

Uses Mediatek MT6572
Cheap Chinese phone this is.

The Smart 4 mini also features a range of Vodafone services, including Vodafone Cloud.
It is already very low on memory, so unless you root it and get rid of the bloatware it will be dead slow.
Edit: No wifi connectivity? You must be joking!

Was getting excited until....

So, the "Vodafone" version sports WiFi & the "Vodacom" version NOT!!!

Is it safe to assume the "Vodacom" hardware includes WiFi support, but has been deactivated...?

WHY,WHY,Vodacom?I'm in the the market to buy a reasonably priced 4"+ screen phone for my son and this had "Killer Deal" written all over it until the mention of lack of "wi-fi" put me off.

So then, does it have Google Playstore?
