So i live in a suburb in Alberton, and woke up one morning (yes, I work from home) to find some guy digging up my pavement and the bricks on my drive way... Yup no notice or permission given (although i know the pavement does not belong to me, but it would be nice to know whats going on or what was going to happen to my drive way). So i asked what they were digging for and was told its Vodacom and that is it they knew nothing more or less (it seemed rehearsed). So 2 days later still a hole in my pavement / driveway and now when i came home (yes, i have to go to the office every now and then) I see bricks lying in the middle of my driveway (which i had to move), some sand loosely packed in the hole and I'm expected to drive my car in to the garage. Lets just say a thump and bang later i made it over the hole and a few more bricks came loose. So what brings me here... Does vodacom or contractors being used by vodacom not have a brain to think to dig the spots no cars normally park or drive on until the cable or trunking is ready to be put there, then in a day dig / lay the trunking and repave or replace the sand etc. Why must they dig the whole street up and then only start laying the trunking that is just stupid. Can vodacom send a Supervisor to be on site to make sure its done to your standard (which at the moment seems very very low) or at the least can vodacom be involved in the planning of the job to complete the job with the least damage or downtime from the prospective clients. Just for the record Vodacom i will not be using you as the Fibre ISP as if i rate your client interaction by the interaction i have had on my paving being dug up, well, its non existent. Anyhoo here is to hoping that one day South African companies will care just a little more about the consumer and not just do what they want.

This is a general thing. They're busy rolling out fibre in my area, and I've had a donga driveway for 2 weeks now. And with the rains, that sand is a super slippery mud that just suck my car tyres in. I don't drive a 4x4, just a little hatch.

I'm a little more tolerant, as I saw what they did to other people's driveways before they got to mine, and I'm REALLY wanting the fibres...

I only received a flyer in my mailbox, on the day they dug, so atleast it was something, but as I said, I saw what they did before they got to my side of the street.

A paragraph (from the Ancient Greek παράγραφος paragraphos, "to write beside" or "written beside") is a self-contained unit of a discourse in writing dealing with a particular point or idea. A paragraph consists of one or more sentences.[1][2] Though not required by the syntax of any language, paragraphs are usually an expected part of formal writing, used to organize longer prose.
