Hi

1.) It seems that my Vodafone E220 modem is network locked? I would also like to use my MTN sim card in the modem, anyway of unlocking the modem?
2.) I logged on to the Vodacom4me website and can't seem to find updated firmware for my modem, the current firmware version installed on the modem is vodafone mobile connect lite v2.2.2.1, is there an update available and where can I download it?

Could be the 64K MTN SIM issue, do a search on this forum for the topic.

As Garth said, the Vodacom-supplied E220 is not network locked.

Got one today at the Vodashop - it IS network locked - running the software it says that there is not a vodacom card in the modem and then exits...

I was under the impression there are no longer locked issues on these devices???

AFAIK, the devices themselves are not network locked, but the Vodafone software auto-detects and configures itself based on your SIM card. You can't really expect Vodafone to include settings for all their competitors.

I hope so, need to get some generic software then.

Not locked, but I would guess you need to use the network's own software.

Also there used to be a problem with MTN 64K SIM's. Check if this is not the case still.

NOT locked - thanks :o. Got it working with Virgin card. Used Huawei driver for Mac and set up the modem in network preferences.

Using it ATM.
