I just need some feedback from fellow forumites that have been using(or used) this version of VMCLite, and if you guys have experienced any problems with it.

I've been noticing 2 particular issues with it, and i just want to find out if i'm right or just being paranoid :o

Im using Vista with Novatel MC950D... on occasions VMCL doesnt start up once i insert Dongle... Need to take it out and reinsert... Otherwise I am quite happy...

Does the MC950D come with 3.2.1.156?

Everybody is E220 Crazed around here, so i dont get to see(or work with) much of the other modems. Here and there a Slipstream, and the rest OLD "Vanilla-3G" Cards.

It comes preloaded with VMCL on the usb dongle, no install discs... quite a neat piece of equipment... hopefulle there should be some more users of this as vodacom advised me about a 2 weeks ago that E220's are no longer availible...

Maybe state your two issues rather than posting riddles? ;)

Again it happened today. The most common one i've been having to fix is where shortly after an upgrade to 3.2.1.156 the application stops working. The customers says it worked for a while then stopped. In Vista it doesnt even autorun(just an explorer window pops-up with the drive contents) and running the application doesnt help either. On XP it loads into the taskbar and just sits there. You can close it but you cant access it.

The other one i've experienced since the beginning is where it leaves the program running in memory after you close it. Only using Task Manager can you completely close it.

The version i've been using(version 3.0.3.112) has been working extremely well and doesnt give those 2 above mentioned issues.

Another instance. Modem was brought to me becoz it just stopped working, shortly after an upgrade to 3.2.1.156.

I've tried most vodafone software including vmc 3.2.1.156 with my e220 on windows XP.

Had similar problems with the software. Also connecting and disconnecting is slow and it seems to slow down my whole system.

So after lots of frustration I came to the conclusion that vodafone software might lead to premature death and got the latest mobile partner software from huawei.

Now with mobile partner all my troubles have gone and I can surf the net free of stress

Thanks Huawei!
