Voice mail be gone

How does one turn off voicemail? My dad switched to cell c prepaid with an iphone 4s and he can't stand voice messages. I checked call forwarding but it's off so I assume it needs to be turned off through Cell C?

Old GSM code does a trick: ##002#
It cancells all diverts, also if other codes are blocked. Do it especially when going overseas.
If Iphone have problems with UUSD, just for this operation put SIM in better phone.
