Voicemail Problem

Hi All,

Not the correct forum but at my wits end. I have a iMate JASJAR which works fantastically. However for some reason, setting the phone to forward my unanswered or calls to voicemail no longer works.

Calling MTN's helpdesk was futile as they told me to put my cellphone number in to the call forwarding option. I took the phone in to Leaf for the camera to be repaired, and they told me to put in the following as the forwarding number: +2783148 and my cell number. I did this can then tried to call the phone. Call was not answered and did not forward to voicemail. I tried MTN helpdesk again and they told me all was set up correctly and they forwarding was working as they tested it. Still not the case and the phone does not forward unanswered calls to voicemail.

Calling in to the voicemail system brings up my voicemail (obviously without messages).

Any suggestions?

This actually looks like a voicemail platform problem! il have to log a rqeust for our helpdesk to look at this, sorry about the inconvenience caused.

The forwarded to number is wrong it should be +278314 + Cellnumber (including 83/73/78) i.e. +278314831234567 which you can activate with *61*+278314 ....# no answer and *62*+278314 ... # for unreachable (*21/*69 for unconditional and busy)

making these changes solved the problem. Thank you everyone for their help - I know that coming here with issues is significantly better than trying the call centre.
