How inexperienced are you?

No one - barring you - betters manufacture claims.

They claim 14.8 ...users get an average of 15 - 15.5
They claim 13 ... users get an average of 13.2 - 13.5
They claim 16.5 ... users get an average of 16.8 - 17.1

Do you see when I'm going?

I'm talking REALWORLD, testest, measured speeds - and using a hypothetical best time ever claimed by the maker.

However - let's live in your odd world were every standard GTI coming the factory get's 14.8 seconds and my C30 is .5 seconds slower .... you're saying in your eyes 14.8 in WOW and 0.5 seconds slower is HORRIBLE WORST EVER? Then when gear ratios and weights are thrown in - you dismis them as excuses?

You're a strange person - and it's no wonder no one takes you seriously when try speaker about cars and performance

PS : If you read the post - I had no software at 15.2 ...

Now add software and you should be faster right? Atleast .5s faster than stock?

You said your car is not standard, but you comparing it with standard and weight and REALWORLD and and and.

Im not hating on your Volvo.
Just saying with better software your car should break into the 14s easily even with 200KG and long gear ratios and 19" TSWs and 93 pump fuel and heavy leather seats and a spare wheel and and and....

I said it's comparable speedwise to ST/GTI which isn't half bad?
You came back and said it's the worst thing you'd ever seen?

Again, if you believe those times there's something wrong with you ...

Sorry - I compared it because it has been compared in the past and I'm used to 'hatch' ... but you're right ; awesome car!

Saw a Valencia Orange one in Cape Town a few days after its release and almost pooped my pants. Accoring to BMW there's only 3 in the Cape, less than a handful on Durbs and 50 or so in Gauteng. In total SA has less than 60 of these and they were all sold way ahead of its release. I think only a total of around 2500 are being made.

I thought about 5000?

But never seen one :/ Hoping they'll have at the JHB Motorshow though!

Oh right, according to wikipedia "BMW was originally going to release the E82 1M Coupe as a limited edition model of approximately 2700 units. Due to positive response, the company lifted the cap and will produce as many E82 1M Coupes as they can until production ends in Spring of 2012". So +-2500 was the original plan but they obviously decided to make a few more :).

Now if they could only bring it out as a convertible... I suppose they at least will bring out its successor the M2 both as a coupe and convertible in 2013
