Is anyone using Vox ADSL fat pipe data on Vox FTTH? I've read on the forum that ADSL data accounts work on Openserve FTTH, but according to the Vox sales person, I need a FTTH account. I don't want to cancel as I've got the R164 for 400gb promo.

Yeah I am actually wondering the same thing. In theory it should not matter, other than perhaps a speed-limit existing for the VOX DSL account (e.g. 40Mb/s max for VDSL). I was able to use my VOX ADSL account to create a PPPoE bridge connection via a mate's 20/5Mb FTTH connection (I do not know which provider he uses) and it worked, maxing out at the line speed.

it should work, as openserve fibre uses the same IPC, test it

It works, only issue is speed inconsistency. From what I tested upload speed isn't affected. If you have a 100mb line, the speed of a connection peaks at 10MB/s before it drops back to 60-40.

Some single connections like VPNs will be limited to 40Mb. Going over that drops the connection before it gets hard limited to 1MB/s until it completely dies out.

Steam and other normie stuff have exceptions allowing them to work at 12MB/s, so normies won't complain. Funny enough origin isn't part of it.

To note, torrent speeds won't be affected unless there are a few seeders. In which case going over 40Mb on any p2p individual connection will be killed.

Thanks, are you saying that if you have a 40Mb/s Fibre connection, you should be fine, the account will be problematic if you have a 100Mb/s line?

From what I recall with previous posts in other threads, that's correct. I had a 40mb fibre line and my Vox fatpipe account always ran full line speed.

My Vox FatPipe works great on my line. Never have an issue maxing out linespeed.

ADSL accounts will work with Telkom ADSL and Fibre lines as they utilize the same IPC systems. Unfortunately they will not work with other providers such as Frogfoot, Fibrehoods, Vumatel etc due to their separate network architectures.

Do you perhaps know which OPPOSE accounts could work with Frogfoot? I'm looking for a second account to run on my FTTB
