I have a 100MB fibre, which is maxing out at 1MB/s at the moment downloading NZB files. So 1/10th of line speed on a Vox Fatpipe, using 2 providers and 15 connections in total.

However, when you do a speedtest.net you get your 90MB/50MB speed and magically for the next 30 seconds SABNZB maxes the line.

Then it slows down to 1MB/s again. Rinse and repeat.

**** Vox. Below you can see the 1MB flatline with the bursts when I was doing the speedtest. Repeated it a few times to ensure it wasn't just a coincidence.

Very interesting behavior that I've also noticed but always thought it was something on my side.

Will try replicating this!

You sure your UseNet provider isn't the one throttling you?
Cheap packages usually max out at 1MB/s

If there's a correlation between Speedtests and NZB bursts I dont see how it could be the provider.

That said, tests are underway.

Initial burst when you start will be at full speed and sporadic ones when a new nzb starts up.
Who is your usenet providor?

Who is your usenet providor?

I understood it as OP having a download going, and it bursting after doing a Speedtest.

Why would I use a cheap provider? UsenetBucket Ultimate Bucket and AstraWeb Unlimited DSL.
On their own they max out a 100MB line easily.

On re-reading seem to be the case. Alright then

It was a question.. something UsetnetBucket and Astra mention that the speeds aren't promised either.

Let us know when you find out who the culprit is.

Let it run at 1MB/s so that the graph stays flat. Run a speedtest.

Waited, and retested SpeedTest again.
Vox is throttling until they see SpeedTests and then unshaping for the duration of the speed test run. The first bump is the bump in my #9 post.

Then I don't know, my everything goes full speed all the time with Vox.

Granted I don't have 100Mbps but if I get my full 20Mbps line speed you should at least be able to get that too.

The only real difference is the provider we use.

Never had a problem with them before, just the last couple of days I couldn't even stream at night.
Seems they are shaping my FatPipe account, as between 12-6 "free time" it gets full speed according to SAB history.

Oh well, at least I know how to bypass what they try to do :)
