1gig... R50/month + R50/6months(setup) = R58.30
3gig... R50 + 2xR50(topup) + R50/6months = R158.30 -> 52.70/gig

quite.

The setup fee is unwelcome. And you get charged per gigabyte or part thereof, rather than for pro-rate usage. Otherwise very good stuff, and a nice flexible package. Definitely an alternative to a prepaid standby account.

Is the whole amount-of-data arguement a matter of "Paying YOUR money and taking YOUR turn."

In my mind, the features are the issue... "Look here, we are giving you this..." - but we are not saying anything about what you don't get...

R50/GB with the feature set is not that good a price... Axxess 626 R45/GB unshaped...

Against the Uncapped offerings from Axxess... The express+ can give you between R16 and R20 per GB (384kb/s line delivering 60% or 28.8kB/s and threshold reached). Do you need 45-58GB in a month?

Maybe I have the calculation wrong... Maybe you are will to pay more than me (or less).

lol I say you getting your nickers in a bunch about not very much at all. Yes yes every bit helps and all that, but come on, it is not like this is a leap towards making broadband more affordable. It's more like a "how can we make it look like we getting in there with a price war" tactic.

Telkom still remains the cheapest offering, considering the free 10 gig local cap that comes with the 1 gig international cap. I realy realy wish this was not the case (no I'm not with Telkom, I'm with Axxess) but sadly it is...

I think you can just order it online. That is what it looks like at least.

The Flexi cap is the most attractive part to me. I always buy prepaid bandwidth (I am funding Axxess' drinks bill at least ) but this system looks easier and more cost effective...

I know everyone has forgotten all about the shaped unshaped thing but..

I use unshaped for online gaming e.g. WOW , War3 etc..
Even with unshaped the latency can still become pretty lame which is roughly 40% lower than shaped thus shaped is NOT an option.

We never see any price drops on unshaped thoogh
e.g. Webafrica charge for a normal SHAPED gig = R70 but charge R125 for 1 gig unshaped.. That is alot more..

I really dont care for shaped.

They will charge you for an additional 3Gb over and above the 1st Gb. So you pay for the 400MB you didn't use.
