Hi guys

Who is using Vox Fibre and how is the performance speed wise and getting issues resolved?

We looking to get Fibre here, Vox is the only one that will supply it to us at R6500 p/m with a Contention ratio of 1:2 and speed of 50Mbps up and down.

The service is uncapped with no fair usage policy.

Hi there. We have Vox fibre, currently in Durban on the 5mb option (Waiting for upgrade to 40mb, JHB getting 20mb, will be completed this week. Quite stable, only had one issue in two years, where the line was down for about 2 hours. contractor dug into the line. Other wise, very good stable service. Getting about between 5-10 ms ping local and about 140 to the UK.

we have had the 50meg service for about a month now, very stable speed is surprisingly good and hasn't been down.

Was just a joke, as you said you had a 50Mb account, which refers to data. Never mind lol

My experience so far with Vox has not been good

100Mbps 1TB bundle. The effective speed tends to be slower than what I can get from a Telkom 10Mbps line.

My adsl maxes out at 7 or 8 meg a second, I can do a download at about 6.9Mbps during peak time
Vox varies from 2.5Mbps to 5.5Mbps on a single download. If I run multiple concurrent downloads I can get it up to 30Mbps

We all love to hate Telkom but &*%^ this is annoying

That's not right.
I easily get 30Mb on my 40Mb VDSL line.

International downloads at best give 10Mps sustained speeds (can be as low as 6Mbps or 2.5Mbps). Vox turned around and blamed it on connecting via an AP rather than LAN cable.

My Telkom ADSL which is running a little slow today is a better connection and service. Via Telkom downloads from international servers are 100% of available line/wifi speed (I am intrigued by the dslreports test).

Hi Fres

Can you confirm and expand on Vox International download speed? Are you getting close to full speead internationally?

I gave notice at Cool Ideas and plan to test Vox next for better International connectivity.

Thx,
Koos

I have a Vox fatpipe as backup to Telkom. Vox latency higher and performance a little sluggish compared to Telkom. That said, overall a very good service.

Why you leaving Cool Ideas? Bad connection?

I can get the VOX 100/10 package for roughly the same as my current 50/50 Cool Ideas package.

My Cool Ideas international speedtests are about a quarter of full speed. By all accounts VOX's international bandwidth is way better.

Also I don't think the 600G cap will be a problem for me. Otherwise Cool Ideas have been great.
