Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Just joining the thread to stay informed. I signed up with Vox yesterday after moving from Afrihost Capped, which I only had for 2 weeks and was complete pants Prior to that I was with Telkom. I took the 25GB Fatpipe Lite with Uncapped bolt on. Stellar experience, so far :)

Won't work on all exchanges. I stand to be corrected but if you get 100% timeouts then you're probably on an exchange still using ATM infrastructure connected to a device known as an Edge Service Router (ESR). The newer Metro-Ethernet exchanges utilize the broadband remote access server (BRAS) technology instead. Another way to test is to do a traceroute to any IP - if you get a reply on the hop after your router, you're connecting via an ESR - if you're using a telkom account, this hop is usually a good indication of exchange congestion anyway. But if that one hop times out completely every time, you're usually linked via BRAS

I'm on an ISAM.

I do get replies on the 2nd hop.

I have not been able to access uploaded.net through WebAfrica or Vox all day. Can access it through Vodacom 3G.
Anyone else out there with the same problem?
 
Anybody else ever have a weird issue where your line will sync but the account refuses to send out receive any data?
 
I am having issues connecting to uploaded.net on all my ADSL accounts (including the free test ones) Can however connect via Vodacom 3G.

Have tried another router etc. as well. Can someone please test and see if it is only me or a more widespread problem.

Yup.. uploaded.net down for me too on my Vox accounts, no problem with it on my Afrihost ADSL.
