Vox Telecom Fatpipe

What should the rest of us do? Wait for support to get back to us?

Hi akescpt

I had a look at this. Saw some high usage last night. I spoke to someone in our core team and we are going to check tonight when traffic picks up again if we can't improve our routing in anyway.

Torrents don't work at all (15 to 20KBps) NNTP gets full line speed.

This is frustrating

Please remember that I have crappy speeds all night. Not just peak times. I'm talking from 6 pm to 6 am at less than half my speed.

And during the day the faT pipe lite has the same issue. On Tuesday I would have taken 4 hours to download a 200mb file. I used 3g in desperation.

Joburg. It's just torrent that is crawling, Http downloads are running at full speed.

They are over subscribed. And my guess is like Mweb they will wait for people to leave before they belatedly react. Then like Afrihost they will explain it all away as a move to a new network.
I have realized it is better to stay with the small guys, the moment you experience a single hiccup move to someone new. It saves months of pleading, begging and listening to false promises. Notice not once has the rep admitted there is a problem. Last night speeds were slow, and then between 12 to 6am it dropped. I think I downloaded less than 200meg. Because the files were only a gig altogether I left it running thinking on a 4mb line it would be done in about an hour. Well still downloading lol at between 2 to 6kbs

Cape town. All day long.

Will test with Telkom tonight. Then take action after that depending on what happens.

For what it's worth, my MWEB account wouldnt even open Google. At least on VOX I can still browse etc, just torrent that are dead. Most concerning though, is that they are dead after hours also.

You in Cape Town experiencing poor speeds all day? I'm experiencing poor speeds and I have some hops on traceroutes with 95% packet loss and about 900ms pings. Had Telkom around to check they say the line is fine and my exchange is a newer exchange that isn't congested. It has been ages now with this poor performance. :(

Browsing has been fine but anything requiring speed or decent latency is usually a bust.

The Vox support guys are on it for me and say they will contact me tomorrow so that is hopefully a good sign. I'm giving Vox December to sort it. Unfortunately if it isn't corrected approaching the end of December I'm probably going to have to cancel and see if a change of ISP helps. No hard feelings I just need Internet that is fast and reliable.

I've been trying to log into the portal now for more than a week. I simply don't get the OTP's. And yes, the correct number is listed in my profile.
