Vox Telecom Fatpipe

I got a call from a vox techie eventually, who first of all got my line speed incorrect and said I had a 10mb line , only after I told him I was only getting 600kb/s on my 40mb/s line , he then asked me if i had contacted Telkom to reset my port. I said no I did the port reset via the vox android app. He then said it won't work as my line is not with vox , I then proceeded to tell him it is with vox and that I have performed the reset it not making any difference.

The call ended at this point and my p2p speed / shaping issues are still unresolved.

Not happy at all.

This has been a problem for some weeks. Voxy asked for a PM asking for my user name when I noticed the issue, which I did. No-one from Vox was polite enough to reply.

Today I cancelled my account (there is a 30 day notice period).

Bloody debit order went off with the double billing. Have now heard nothing for a week ffs. Unacceptable service levels. Looks like you have to pray nothing goes wrong and make no changes to your account.

Seems to be sorted out again , even faster than before

Max 230 to 300 kps on p2p

Spoke too soon , my p2p speeds are back to sh!$ again 150kb/s

Same issues here in Cape Town.... moved from Crystal Web, now P2P is crawling (50KB/s) on 15Mb line. All works fine from same location with 5 other ISP accounts.

WTF VOX... shaping out of control on "Unshaped" data? :erm:

EDIT: Seems I am now also being limited to 150KB/s now... this confirms SHAPING.

This is definitely shaping , Im in the tokai area though , I wonder if this is happening in other regions.

I am on the other coast (Milnerton / Sunningdale) - 2 locations, both have the same issue. Both locations work perfectly on other ISP accounts. Seems Cape Town is where all the heavy users are LOL.

I have a feeling the problem lies on the 3rd hop.... Not sure why...

So not happy with VOX at the moment. Feeling kinda shafted in the rear now.

Is it worth it to get the VOX Fat Pipe? We have been at MWEB for 2.5 years and for the past 6 months we have been throttled consistently for using over 70Gb on uncapped. We barely ever use more than 70Gb a month. Now we are looking at the VOX 75Gb Fat pipe. We like to download movies and series, watch youtube and some online gaming. Is their free data after midnight really free and how is their internet speeds?

Perhaps consider paying R40 more for an extra 40GB - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=105846&d=1394998321.

Data after hours (00H00 - 06H00) on my 100GB is free.
Been getting full line speed most of the time.
Even phoned them 30 minutes ago, no holding, to get my port reset.
Have a few little issues, but the problems I have can be Telkom related.

Would still rather opt for Vox Unshaped..

Hi Voxy, Happy Festive Greetings!
Unfortunately that is where the happiness ends :( Last nights Internet experience was the worst i ever had. Ping was so high, i could have used it for lotto numbers. speeds were all over the place. it was just a nightmare. Eventually when i gave up trying to game, i couldnt stream either. Just hoping it was an isolated problem last night?
